These are some questions we're often asked that you may find useful. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

You will find Sierra only 20-25 minutes from the centre of Mudgee. There are 6.5kms of dirt/gravel road through beautiful country side. It is a council maintained road, 2WD accessible in all weather conditions and the dirt road is all part of the adventure and sense of escape.  Exact details of how to get there are emailed to you before your stay, however if you have any questions regarding access then please get in touch.  Please note that whilst most 2WD Vehicles have no issue driving the road (including many guests who have arrived in expensive sports vehicles without issue), we do not accept any responsibility if you do not wish to drive along it, and will not cover any transport costs as a result.   Please also keep in mind that Mudgee has many dirt roads in the region, many of which lead to the popular wineries.

Check-in at Carinya and Uralla is 2pm, and Check-out is 10am. Check-in at Dulili is 3pm and Check-out is 11am. We are happy to try and accommodate late check-outs and early check-ins depending on availability and cleaning schedules. Please note that additional fees may apply.

We have three beautiful tents for you to choose from, all of which are designed as a luxury getaway for couples.  All our tents are isolated in their own private settings and have spectacular views. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

We have built the tents to be as comfortable as possible in all weather conditions.  However due to the nature of glamping accommodation – strong winds and rain can effect the tents more than a bricks and mortar building.  Being perched high on mountains with spectacular views, it can go from dead still to extremely windy and anything in-between, which is completely out of our control.  The tents are incredibly sturdy and have been reinforced to withstand cyclonic winds – which have never been experienced in our area. Each of our tents have wood fireplaces and are insulated, water tight, and many of our guests love snuggling up inside by the fireplace during large storms – it’s all part of the adventure.

Please note that we do not accept any responsibility for any affect on your stay due to adverse weather (E.g use of outdoor firepit, outdoor bathtub etc).

Sierra is designed as an escape to the country to enjoy some rest and relaxation.  As such we don’t recommend Sierra for groups of friends. There is a maximum of 2 adults allowed in or around a tent at any time, and we do not allow any parties or gatherings of any kind.  If you do decide to travel with your friends to Sierra, we ask you to respect the quiet enjoyment of other guests, and avoid congregating together on the property.

Sierra Escape is strictly adults only so that you and our other guests can fully relax and indulge.  For this reason and due to the nature of the property we are unable to welcome children.

Due to the amount of wildlife residing at Sierra it is not suitable for any pets.

We do not allow any camping on the property as our council DA prevents it. There are already several campground facilities in Mudgee. The only form of accommodation we offer are our 3 glamping tents, and are only able to accommodate the amount of people stated on the website.

Absolutely. All our tents have BBQs and kitchens with gas stoves. There are also small 12v fridges to chill your local Mudgee wine and goodies in.

In order to have a minimal footprint on the planet, we have chosen to power the tents using solar power. We have ample power to charge phones (you’ll find USB ports next to the bed), an outlet for charging laptops and cameras, a small fridge, and lighting. Unfortunately there is no facility for hair dryers, straighteners or heaters and attempting to plug one in will trip a breaker cutting off power to the entire tent.

We have a minimum of two nights and three on long weekends. On occasion we can squeeze you in for one night if there is only one night available between two bookings – however there is a surcharge of $100-$200 (depending on the tent) applicable for this, to help cover cleaning and stocking costs etc.

Due to the high fire risk of the property – the outdoor fire-pits cannot be used at all from December 1st to March 1st (subject to change based on local conditions). They are also not to be used during any windy conditions or any total fire ban days.  If you have any questions around this please get in touch with us.

Sierra is designed for people to relax and enjoy the serenity – so as a result we do NOT allow ANY kind of motorsport on the property.  This includes but is not limited to Motorbikes, ATV’s & Dirt Bikes.  This policy is also in place due to insurance coverage.
