We enjoyed a wonderful glamping adventure at Sierra Escapes. Located in the Piambong mountain ranges, our superbly appointed tent offered a wonderful view to start and end each day. The management and staff at the retreat were attentive, friendly and all too happy to help out with any need. My partner and I booked Mudgee to escape Sydney living after a very hectic 6 months, so we decided we earned a break to relax and reset.

It couldn’t have been a better decision - the property was stunningly private and the silence was just incredible; nothing but the trees swishing and the occasional bird (or moo from the cows down the valley!).

Everything was tastefully planned and thought out; we arrived to a minibar and complimentary items like HUGE marshmallows, pancake mix, slippers and robes, sleeping masks, and Pepe saya butter (we couldn’t source this at the Woolies for a platter so this was super exciting!).

Elouera itself was just magical. Huge bed, lots of soft lighting, remote controlled curtains and plenty of windows and natural light/airflow. The sunrises became a morning ritual, and even waking up at 2am to the beautiful bright moon. It was effortlessly relaxing, and everything you needed was there. The view was impossible to look away from, and so interesting to see it in different lights throughout the day. we saw gala parents coming home each afternoon to feed their baby in the nest within a tree trunk, sheep on the hill joining us to watch the sunrise on the deck, butterflies and dragonflies zipping around in the sun and grasshoppers hidden along the driveway. At night if you sit on the deck you can see the milky way so clearly, and plenty of stars, shooting stars and satellites making their way around the globe. It’s such a beautiful and tranquil place that really makes you sit back and put things into perspective.

The access was super easy by road, and they gave us really clear directions and reassurances on the road quality. We have stayed at other remote places where the roads were 20km and filled with potholes, but they have really catered to upkeep the road here and it shows. And the neighbours are loving when sharing the road! We shared a few smiles and waves when passing each other on the gravel road.

The staff made sure we had all the privacy in the roll, while also checking in daily to let us know when they were onsite and to reach out for anything. When we did have a query (wildlife question out of interest haha) they were very responsive and resolved our query for us.

We didn’t see anyone the entire time we were there, but still felt safe knowing there was a few properties on the other side of the valley that you could see, but weren’t close to us by any means.

I highly, highly recommend coming here. 3 nights was perfect but we could’ve easily stayed a week here. We will definitely be back again!

PS. Definitely book the Mudgee Observatory with John - we did this in our last night and it was such an interesting and fun way to spend a night - we even got to see Saturn with her rings!

We had such an amazing 2 nights at Sierra Escapes ‘Dullili’
Such a stunning location with the most amazing views and Sunsets. The accommodation is beautiful and extremely comfortable with outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace.
The pool area was close by with incredible views also.
Credit to the owners and staff for creating such a wonderful place and always contactable should you need anything.
We will definitely be back

Absolutely stunning place to unwind, relax and reconnect with nature, if you're looking into booking this place, don't hesitate! We can't recommend this place enough, you will not regret it!
We stayed in Elouera tiny house for an anniversary, perched at the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful countryside of Mudgee region, luxurious amenities, comfy king size bed, the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets, the location is peaceful and private, there is abundant wildlife to see and perfect for stargazing while enjoying the outdoor tub. I came across Sierra Escape as a “pop up” advertisement via Instagram. As soon I saw ‘Elouera’ and noticed the availability that I was after for around my birthday, I knew it was meant to be! Words can’t simply describe how BEAUTIFULLY BREATHTAKING Eloura really is! I highly recommend you experience this for yourself. Incredible location, beautiful accommodation. We stayed at Dulli at the top of the hill and Sierra escapes thought of every little detail to make it the perfect getaway. Thank you Tasch, Cam and team. Highly recommend!
